Sick Day Rules: What to do if you are unwell
If you are feeling unwell, especially with vomiting, diarrhoea, or a fever, it is important to know how your medications might affect you. Some medicines can make you feel worse if you are dehydrated.
When to Follow Sick Day Rules
Please follow these guidelines if you experience the following:
2 or more episodes of vomiting or diarrhoea
Fever, sweats or shaking (unless very mild)
These symptoms can lead to dehydration which may make certain medications unsafe to take temporarily.
Medicines to pause whilst you are sick
If you are unwell you may need to stop taking the following medicines until you are better:

When to restart your medication
Once you have been eating and drinking normally for 24-48 hours you can restart your usual medication. Do not take extra doses to make up for missed ones just continue as normal.
